![]() ![]() While Avid indicated the Mediacentral production + Media composer (and dynamic relink) were solved, it seems there are still some issues although things are a lot better then 1-2 years ago.ġ. I have also raised these question to support and in the ACSR mailing list. Jason Schwab / Assistant Editor / Mac Pro (an old one from 2013) / Avid MC 2019.12.0 And I know it often depends on our setup and many other factors, but perhaps something rudimentary in the sound can be applied to give us an idea. ![]() It would be great if we could use our usual trial and error process to see how loud we can make key moments and what we can truly get away with. ![]() As a new editor I had trouble explaining this to people I worked with, but I think Avid is powerful enough now that this more accurate representation of the audio in its final form while you work could be built into how the program operates. I don't know if it's the Avid architecture to reduce the effects of peaking, but I think that it gives less experienced editors or "preditors" a false sense of security that their audio will play as "powerfully loud" rather than distorted and obnoxious. In Avid, when you have audio that is peaking, it seems to me that Avid doesn't accurately reproduce how the audio will sound when it's exported to tape or to a quicktime. I work mostly in Avid MC 2019, but I don't believe this idea has appears in newer versions of the application. I had an idea for a feature in Media Composer that I ran by someone who I know is more regularly in here and he suggested I post it here. Occasional reader here, first time poster. ![]()
